Some Cravings Are Stranger Than Others.
A midnight-black cat with enormous hypnotic golden eyes holds a waffle cone — but look closer. The scoop isn't ice cream. It's a frog, wide-eyed and resigned, being savored with a slow, deliberate lick. Against a warm ochre background, this surrealist oil-style painting blends dark humor, gothic whimsy, and fine art sensibility into one unforgettable image. It doesn't ask for your approval. It just stares.
✦ Why You'll Love It
- Surrealist Dark Whimsy — A perfectly unsettling scene rendered with painterly depth: big-eyed black cat, a frog cone, and a gaze that follows you across the room
- Dark Academia Aesthetic — Warm ochre tones, moody shadows, and oil-painting texture make this a natural fit for dark, eclectic, and maximalist interiors
- Conversation Starter — Witty, strange, and impossible to ignore — guests will stop mid-sentence to ask about it
- Premium Canvas Quality — Printed on gallery-grade canvas with fade-resistant inks that preserve every brushstroke and shadow for years
- Two Finish Options — Framed Canvas (classic black wood frame, ready to hang) or Stretched Canvas (gallery-wrapped, frameless modern look)
- 9 Size Options — From 8"x12" to 34"x51"; striking as a solo statement or anchoring a curated gallery wall
- Ready to Hang — Arrives fully assembled with all hanging hardware included; no tools, no hassle

I chose this for my reading nook because it feels a little magical without being loud. The rabbits and flowers add interest, while the dark colors keep the corner calm.

Peaceful, unusual, and lovely above our dresser.
The pale flowers stand out beautifully against the dark background. We hung this near our sofa, and the two rabbits give the painting a quiet storybook feeling.
We hung this near the chair where we practice guitar. It adds a little humor to the space, and the simple colors keep it from feeling overly decorated.
A cheerful little companion for my reading corner.
